Mrs. Bertha McClary Tisdale was born on June 18, 1925 in Williamsburg County, to the late Levine and Leila McCrea McClary.She was joined in holy matrimony to the late David (SY) Tisdale. This union was blessed with six children; one preceded her in death. Mrs. Bertha Tisdale entered into eternal rest July 30, 2015 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Charlie and Julia Triplett, Sumter, South Carolina. Mrs. Tisdale received her formal education in the public school system of Williamsburg County. Mrs. Tisdale was a homemaker and loved her family dearly. She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and became affiliated with St. Paul United Methodist Church, South Carolina. Later she became a member of Evangelistic Temple Way of the Cross Church, Kingstree, South Carolina. She was a faithful member of the Senior Choir and of the Church Mothers. Until her health failed, she attended Grace Cathedral Ministries in Sumter, South Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers Robert and Oliver McClary, and one sister; Olivia Hicks, husband David (SY) Tisdale and one daughter, Annie B. Marshall. Those left to cherish her memories are: five loving children; Curtis (Alma) Tisdale of Miami, Florida, David L. (Martha) Tisdale of Kingstree, South Carolina, Lula Pressley, Julia (Charles) Triplett and Wilhelmina (Nathaniel) Durant all of Sumter, South Carolina; two sisters; Othell Gunter and Dorothy Jones, sisters-in-laws Bertha and Mazie McClary, one aunt, Thelma McClary all of Baltimore, Maryland. She has twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
