Life Reflections
"My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever."
Psalm 73:26 (KJV)
Mr. Alonza McFadden, affectionately known as "Fox," was born on August 1, 1963, to the late Mrs. Bernetha Singletary and the late Mr. Willie Singletary. He transitioned from this life on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at his residence.
Alonza was a proud graduate of Kingstree Senior High School, Class of 1981. Known for his strong work ethic, he never hesitated to take on any job and was respected by many for his dedication and reliability. He worked as a handyman and farmer, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed.
Beyond his work, Alonza was full of life. He enjoyed music, cherished fellowship with friends and family, and loved to dance. His joyful spirit and warm heart left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. A true sports enthusiast, Alonza had a deep passion for baseball and later became interested in softball, where he played shortstop and first base. One of his most memorable sayings on the tobacco field was simply, "Turn," a phrase that still echoes with those who worked alongside him.
Alonza leaves to cherish his precious memories; his daughter, Tranese McFadden; his son, Alonza (Wendy) McFadden; and his wife, Debra Washington McFadden all of Kingstree, SC; his loving sisters, Shanta Singletary, Sheila Graham both of Kingstree, SC, and Deborah Singletary of Bronx, NY; three brothers, Tyrone Singletary, Anthony Singletary, and Jimmie Lee Singletary all of Kingstree, SC; two uncles, Alfonzo Brown of Kingstree, SC, and John McFadden of Atlanta, GA; and one aunt, Willie Mae Shaw of Kingstree, SC; three grandchildren, Soriyah Major, Keyron Sidbury, and Jerron Sidbury all of Kingstree, SC, and a host of other family members, and friends.
