Mrs. Christine Staples McClary a daughter of the late Cal Staples and Rosa Bell Staples Austin. Was born June 28, 1943 in Birmingham, AL. She attended the school system of Alabama. Sister Christine, she was affectionately called was a God fearing praying woman that many loved. She was joined into holy matrimony to the late Rev. Mallie Lou McClary. This union was blessed with six children. Sister Christine was a faithful worker in the church. She will be remembered for working in the following capacities: Sunday School Teacher, Senior Choir Member, Cafeteria Captain, Mother's Board, President of the women's Organization, and a Deaconess on the Deacon Board. Sister Christine McClary will be missed but her memory will be cherished through her four sons; Minister Mallie (Linda) McClary, Mr. Roderick (Tammy) McClary, Mr. Christopher McClary, Mr. Carlos (Stienna) McClary; two daughters Ms. Towanda McClary and Mrs. Erica (Renwick)Tucker; adopted son; Mr. Rodney Maceo (Vickie) Thomas, two sisters; Mrs. Dorothy Moore and Mrs. Mattie Pearl Cooley; A Goddaughter; Ms. Sharon Sherall Pressley, in-laws; Mrs. Johnnie McClary, Mrs. Lirlease Gamble, Mrs. Inez Hunter, Mrs. Ida Staples, and Mr. Nehmiah Boyd, a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
