Obituary

Clarence Pressley, age 91, passed from mortal to immortality on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Carolina Hospital in Florence, SC following a brief illness.

Clarence was born February 17, 1927 to the late Dena Pressley and the late Willie Houston both of Kingstree, SC.

Clarence was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. Where he grew up in the Holy Woods Community. He was not a stranger to work. As a young boy he began working on a farm. Later he became a plasterer and moved to Charleston, SC to further his career. He worked for many years until he retired and returned home to Kingstree, SC. At an early age he accepted Christ as his lord and Savior and joined Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. He faithfully served as a part of the United Methodist Men.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Felix Pressley; one sister, Serena Pressley; three brothers, Woodrow Pressley, Ashley Houston and Joe Houston; a great grandson Arthur T. Bradley, Jr. and a nephew reared as his own Tony Wilson. He leaves to cherish his memories four daughters, Scottie Pressley of MD, Shalondia(Arthur) Pressley of NC, Joycelin White and Vanessa (Johnny,Sr.) Murray both of SC; six grandchildren, Stephanie White of GA, LaMonica (Marsden, Sr) Miller, Johnny (Tiffany) Murray, Jr., Leroy White, Jr., Wendy Murray and Lateisha (Anthony) Burgess all of SC; 17 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; two close friends Bruce Burgess and Shirley Hayward and a host of other relatives and friends.
