Cynthia V.
Mcclorin
January 31, 1959 – September 2, 2023
"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
With profound sadness, we request your prayers for the family and friends of Dr. Cynthia V. McClorin, who received her heavenly wings on Saturday September 2, 2023. She is the daughter of the late Mr. William and Fannie McClorin. Love ones left to cherish her memories are her sisters Jannie Dukes; Carolyn McClorin; Dr. Lottie McClorin, and Lavetta McClorin, and one brother Kenneth McClorin.
God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change; the courage to change the things we can; and the wisdom to know the difference.
Dr. Cynthia V. McClorin was born January 31, 1959, in Salters, SC to the late Mr. William and Fannie McClorin.
On Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 12:48 pm, in His infinite wisdom God saw fit and told His child, "Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant". At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Bethel AME Church where she served faithfully as a member and director of the finance committee. This deep and living faith continued throughout her life.
Dr. McClorin graduated from C.E. Murray High School in 1977. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from South Carolina State College in 1981 and Master of Science in Speech Pathology in 1983. While attending, her commendations included Young Democrats, Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society, and pledging Zeta Phi Beta to name a few. She had held numerous church, professional and community affiliations that were a driving force in the excellent life she lived. Shortly after, she earned a MS degree in Media Science from the University of SC. She continued her education path by earning a Master of Biblical Studies and Doctoral Degree in Christian Counseling from International Overcoming School of Religion in 2001. Dr. McClorin was a gifted and born educator. She was always helping and giving unselfishly to others. She was always positive, happy and encouraging. Her greatest gift was her ability to inspire her family, students, colleagues and others the desire to "Dream and in Dreaming to Aspire to Greater Heights".
Dr. McClorin's career as an educator was her life's work. Her interactions with students outside the classroom were many and varied as she inspired students to be the best that they could be. She worked at Clarendon County School District as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) and Williamsburg County School District as a SLP and Media Specialist for over 33 years before retiring in June 2015. She devotedly maintained her American Speech—Language—Hearing Association membership from 1985 to Present. To date, she actively maintained her license in private practice as a Speech Language Pathologist. Her greatest gifts were the ability to give back, inspire and always serve. Her favorite pastimes were celebrating with family, helping others, watch- ing TV and reading novels.
Dr. McClorin was a loving sister, who was preceded in death by four of her siblings: Dr. Solomon Franklin Davis, Willie Lee (Burnestine) McClorin, Henry McClorin and Christine (Eugene) Noland. Love ones to forever cherish her memories are four sisters: Jannie Dukes of Lane, SC; Carolyn McClorin and Dr. Lottie McClorin of Columbia, SC; Lavetta McClorin of Clayton, NC and one hard working brother, Kenneth McClorin of Charlotte, NC. She had one loving adopted uncle Jessie (Lorraine) Dingle of St Stephens, SC.
Dr. McClorin had eleven nieces and nephews: Steven (Patrice) Noland, Courtney (Yoursheka) McClorin, Damon McClorin, Henry (Asiya) McClorin Jr, David (Alexis) Noland, Michael Noland, Kevin Dukes, Courtney McClorin, Adrian Dukes, Lacheal McClorin, and Mikayla Cunningham, fifteen great nieces and nephews: (Shante, Sharde, Brandon, Cournesha, Courtney, Cournae, Damontae, Aliyah, Madison, Deja, David, Michelle, Cayden, Tyler and Lanylah) and one great, great niece (Aliza). She had a host of family and friends.
God saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered, "Come to me". With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you passed away. Although we love you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
If We Could Bring You Back Again
Love, your Family
