It is With deepest sorrow, the staff and management of Pressley Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Mr. Donaven Lee Dalton. He will be remembered for the love, kindness, and strength he shared with all who knew him. During this time of great loss, we extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Funeral arrangements for Mr. Donaven Lee Dalton has been arranged for Sunday July 6, 2025, 12pm at Pressley's Funeral Home (Sharon Sherall Memorial Chapel) Apostle Josa Epps McIntosh will deliver the words of comfort. Interment will immediately follow in the Crossroads Cemetery in Salters, SC.

Donaven Lee Dalton departed this earthly life on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at his home in Raleigh, NC, God gently closed his eyes and whispered "Peace Be Thine". Donaven Lee Dalton was born on January 29, 1993 in Clarendon County to Roscoe Lee Dalton III and the late Frances Wilson Dalton. In addition to his mother, Donaven was preceded in death by: maternal grandparents, Robert Wilson Jr. and Lerline Epps Wilson; his paternal grandparents, Roscoe Lee Jr and Leona Dalton; his uncle, Kenneth O'Neal Wilson; his aunt, Angela Wilson Moore.
At an early age Donaven attended Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Salters, SC and later joined Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Lumberton, NC. Donaven was a 2011 graduate of Fuquay Varina High School in Fuquay Varina, NC. After high school he attended Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC where he studied English. After two years at Campbell University, Donaven continued his studies at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, NC. Donaven loved helping others and began a career in customer service roles at Kroger and Apple. Donaven transitioned his customer care focus to health care services and achieved his Certificate of Completion for Medical Billing in June 2024. Donaven was employed by Cardinal Health as Customer Service Ops, Representative II.
Donaven had an infectious smile and laugh and he was willing to help those that he encountered along his life journey. Donaven was the self-taught family chef who was always willing to warm our hearts and stomachs through his creative dishes. Donaven loved spending time with family and friends. Donaven rescued his dog Willow Ava Dalton and she instantly became his best friend. He enjoyed taking her on adventurous walks and spoiling her with treats and gifts. Donaven and Willow had a special bond that filled him with joy.
Donaven was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted dog: Willow Ava Dalton; his father: Roscoe Lee Dalton of Lexington, KY; one sister, Shanice Dalton of Lumberton, NC; three brothers: Jeron Dalton of Raleigh, NC; Robert (Shanekwa) Dalton of Myrtle Beach, SC; Malachi Dalton of Lexington, KY; four aunts: Stephanie (John) Clay of Lexington, KY; Ellen (John) McLeod of Vass, NC; Judith (Richard) Battle of Fuquay-Varina, NC; and Teresa Wilson of Charlotte, NC; two uncles: Tony (Heather) Dalton of Lexington , KY; and Terrence Dalton of Lexington, KY; a great uncle and aunt: Charles and Helen Susie Mae Wilson; two nephews: Jaylen Dalton and Arian Powell of Lumberton, NC; two nieces: Nevaeh McCrea-Dalton of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Melanie Council of Lumberton, NC; and a host of family members and friends. Donaven loved bonding with his cousins and he shared a special bond with four cousins, LaChandra McLeod, QueenMaya Battle, Matthew Battle and Aaron Battle.
