Life Reflections
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith II Timothy 4:6-7
Hayward Tisdale 77, affectionately known as "Orlando Tisdale", quietly departed this life on November 5th, 2020 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Ga. Hayward was born in Kingstree, South Carolina on December 27th, 1943, to the late James Tisdale and Lorane Strong. Orlando was the 4th child of 11 siblings. While being raised in Kingstree, he graduated from Saint Mark High School. Following graduation, Orlando departed from his hometown in Kingstree, SC and relocated to New York City. Then later to Marietta, Ga until his death.
In the late 1960's, Hayward met and married Lillie Mae Williams (Tisdale). While in New York, Hayward made history by being the first to purchase his first home through the HUD program in Queens, NY, which made the local papers and broadcast news. In that house, he raised 5 children.
He was preceded in death by his loving son Hayward Tisdale Jr. of Queens, NY and a Son in law Reginald Martin Sr. of Austell, Ga.
Hayward was an avid bible reader and teacher. He loved to engage in biblical conversations with any and everyone. His extremely generous spirit, heartening smile, and immensely humorous personality was loved by everyone. Hayward's influence will FOREVER remain in the hearts and lives of everyone who knew him. Hayward's life will perpetually be cherished in the lives of his children: Sabrina (Ronald) Davis (Dover DE), Rita Williams (Montgomery, AL), Lolita Williams (Loganville, GA), Inga Martin (Austell, GA).
His life will also be cherished in the lives of his 10 grandchildren: Monique Belle (Fort Worth, TX), Hassan Tisdale (Atlanta, GA), Jade DeJean (Loganville, GA), Skylar Davis (Dover, DE), Reginald "Reggie" Martin Jr. (Austell, GA), Storm Davis (Dover, DE), Egypt Martin (Austell, GA), Chyna Martin (Austell, GA), Aaliyah Tisdale (Montgomery, AL), Ashanti Tisdale (Montgomery, AL), and one great-grandchild Chase Warner (Dover, DE). And a host of siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
