Obituary

James Cecil Barr , son of the late Blanche Barr and the late Johnny Locklair Jr. was born on February 13, 1954 in Kingstree, South Carolina. James affectionately known as "Pee Wee" entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Hospice Center of Hospice Charleston in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

James attended the public school system of Williamsburg County, graduating with the St. Mark High School class of 1972. He enjoyed his classmates, where he served as class president. He moved to New York, where he worked in the shipyard for years. James later moved back to South Carolina, where he worked at Shaw's Garage and McKnight Texaco as a mechanic.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion Apostolic Faith Holiness Church in the Holywoods Community. He was loved by many and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. James had various hobbies that he enjoyed, one especially was cooking for his family.

James was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Bertha McAlister Chatman.

Love ones left to cherish his memories includes his wife, Jinner Wease Barr, one brother, Bernard McAlister of Kingstree, SC; two sisters, Jannie McAlister of Kingstree, SC and Bernice (Willie) Singleton of Andrews, SC; a loving Goddaughter, Celeste Tisdale of Fayetteville, NC, one sister in-law, Barbra (Linwood) Wallace of Charleston, SC; one brother in-law, Kevin Pendergrass of Kingstree, SC; one uncle, James Barr of Kingstre, SC; two aunts, Deloris (Henry) Williams of Henderson, NC and Jannie Bar of Kigstree, SC; two special friends, Rhoda Sally and Fannie Gibson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
