James the son of the late Mander Thompson was born January 07, 1941 in Kingstree, South Carolina. He attended the public schools of Williamsburg County.

He was a construction worker.

As an adult he accepted Christ as his personal Savior, and served God to the best of his ability, he was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church.

He was joined in holy wedlock to Clezzie Woods Thompson. They spent their entire life in Greeleyville, South Carolina. James was a very friendly and talkative person.

He leaves to cherish his memory; a loving and devoted wife Clezzie Woods Thompson of the home; his children, Jesse (David) Mitchum of Greeleyville, SC, Linda (Samuel) Goods of Atlanta, GA., Leroy (Karen) Brown of West Palm Beach, FL., and Emily Brown of Gainesville, FL; a host of grandchildren, cousins, and other family members.
