Obituary

"For we know that if our earthly house, this tabernacle, were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens."

On behalf of the family and entire staff of Pressley's Funeral Home, we regretfully announce the passing of our beloved, Mr. Jerry Morris who transitioned from this earthly home on Friday, December 26, 2020.

Life Reflections

"And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes, there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away." Revelations 21:4

Jerry Morris was born on March 7, 1964 to the Late Benjamin F. Morris and Virginia Nesmith Morris in Williamsburg County, Nesmith South Carolina. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers: Baby Joseph, Benjamin Jr., Sam ,and Brinceson. And one sister Mary Lee Boards.

On Saturday Morning December 26, 2020 God quietly claimed one of his precious gifts home after an illness.

At an early Jerry joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Kingstree, South Carolina. Jerry received his education in the public schools of Williamsburg County. He was employed as a plumber, mechanic and carpenter. He assisted family members on many odd and end jobs and barbeque. He loved all sports; hunting and most of all fishing with his family.

Jerry was united to the Late Rolonda Wicks Morris. This union was blessed with two children.

He leaves to cherish his memories are: one daughter Rosie Morris, one son Jerry Morris, Jr., and a step daughter Kimberly Wicks all of Florida. Five brothers: Oliver (Vivian) Morris; Rev John Lee (Pearl)Morris and Eugene (Sandra) Morris all of Durham, North Carolina; Gerome (Pastor Paula) Morris of Lake City, SC and Walter Morris of Kingstree, SC.: three sisters: Alice (Samuel) Johnson, Yvonne Nelson of Kingstree, SC and Essie (Freddie) Brockington, of Butner, North Carolina; a devoted friend Michelle McElveen. Four aunts: Rosa Dansby, Kingstree, Effie Nesmith, Fla; Joann (Clifton) Johnson, Philia, and Mattie Nesmith of Columbia; a niece Dorothy Lee and Nephew Alphonso Boards who grew up together like sister and brother; two special friends Marion Hammond and Polly Cooper; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
