Obituary

And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Revelation 21:3-4

John V. McFadden, was affectionately known as "Sergeant, Mack or JV" by his friends and family. He was born on October 20, 1939, to the late Jimmy (1899-1959) and Annie (Boyd) McFadden (1901-1987).

He was reared and educated in the Williamsburg County School District of Kingstree, SC. His parents instilled in him the value of accepting God into his life as a baby and working hard.

His youth consisted of working on the family farm by growing, harvesting and curing tobacco, attending church services, and enjoying time with family and friends. Siblings that preceded him in death were Ester Gladys Boyd (1925-1974), Joseph (Joe) Boyd (1929-1978)

Ruby Lee Shaw (1935-2001), and Bernetha Singletary (1937-2016).

JV left behind family and friends in pursuit of a career in the U.S. Army to which he served for nearly 25 years. He was united in holy matrimony to Edna DeLois Pruitt (1944-2013) in

1968. To this union three children were born: John Jr., Veronica and Ryland McFadden.

From his retirement from the U.S. Army in 1986, he went on to work and retire from Union Camp Paper Mill (later acquired by International Paper) and Atlanta Auto Auction (Manheim Atlanta Auction).

He leaves to cherish his memories: son John V. (Vonda) McFadden Jr. of Atlanta/Brunswick, GA; daughter Veronica A. (Christopher) Suggs of Fairburn, GA; Ryland S. McFadden Sr. of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter Christiuna A. Suggs of Fairburn, GA; granddaughter Rychell
