Lerone Burgess, Sr. son of the late Wash and Clover Burgess, was born on October 15, 1924 in Williamsburg, SC. He was preceded in death by two sisters,; Flossie Fulton and Earline Burgess and one brother; Haywood Burgess. Lerone received his education in the public schools of Williamsburg County. His love for nature allowed him to pursue a thriving landscaping career in several parts of Florida. At an early age, he accepted Christ and became a member of St. Mary United Methodist Church. He served on the usher board and was a member of the United Methodist Men. Brother Lerone Burgess, Sr., was also the head of the usher board in Hobe Sound Florida while attending the New Allen Temple Methodist Church. He was united in holy matrimony to Ellen Fulton Burgess in September 1944. This union was blessed with two sons. He leaves to cherish his precious memory to devoted sons, Lerone (Johnnie) Burgess, Jr. of Kingstree, SC and James Edward (Sandra) Burgess of Hillside, NJ, a devoted daughter, Virginia McCray of Columbia, SC; two special brothers in-laws Raymond Fulton and Vernal (Virginia) Fulton, both of Kingstree, SC; two sisters in-laws Amanda Mcfadden of Bronx, NY and Freemon (Jacob) McCrea of Hollywood, FL; additional sisters in-laws Geneva Fulton and Lillie Fulton, both of Philadelphia, PA; five grandsons, Anthony L. Burgess, Byron C. Burgess, Byron Pressley, Kenneth Burgess and Franklin Burgess; a special cousin Frank Burgess and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and friends.
