Mr. Lorenval Donta Evans, affectionately called "Kent", was the son of Delbra A. Evans & the late Kenneth "Kenny" Evans of Lane, SC, was born on August 9, 1973 in Georgetown, South Carolina. After a valiant fight, Kent entered into eternal rest on November 23, 2020 (2:15 a.m.), surrounded by his loving and devoted family.
Kent received his formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County, graduating from C.E Murray High School in 1991. With the blessings of his parents Kent attended and graduated from South Carolina State College, Orangeburg, S.C. He was persuaded to seek further higher learning and learning, he did.
Kent pledged the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity in 1995, to which he was a devoted member. He also was a member of Lampkins Masonic Lodge #158. Kent ran a successful race and was elected to the Williamsburg County School Board and served with dedication.
Kent believed in working. He began is career at an early age with The United States Department of Agriculture, having served in various roles and ended his tenure there as Water Programs Director in Washington DC (1994-2018). He later furthered his career as Domain Expert of Water and Environmental Programs at Live Oak Bank in Wilmington, NC (2018-present).
At an early age he joined Jerusalem AME Church of Lane, SC and served in various roles. Later in life, he gave his life to Christ, was baptized and joined Brookland Baptist Church of Columbia, SC. Upon returning home, he joined New Beginning Christian Church, was entrusted with the responsibility as a Trustee Board member and he served with dedication and commitment until his passing.
Kent loved life, and he lived large, his personality was huge, and he never met a stranger. He was always looking for betterment, teaching the young men in his pathway about life and socialization.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his two sons; Mr. Lorenval Donta Evans II of Oxford, Miss. and Mr. Cornelius Kent Evans of Atlanta, Ga; His loving loving mother Mrs. Delbra Evans of Lane, S.C.; the love of his life, Dana Kleinsasser; three sisters, Mrs. Silisia "Lish" Moses (Carlos) of Columbia, SC, Mrs. Kia Gibson (Willie) of Hopkins, S.C. and Mrs. Tamika Woodard (Tony) of Columbia, SC; one brother, Mr. Derwin Evans (Latonia) of Orangeburg, SC; one surrogate sister, Mrs. Shirley Hamlet (Sullivan) of Greensboro, N.C.; a host of aunts and uncles; Ruby Singletary, Rovana (Frank) Kendricks, Virginia Miller, Roberta Nesmith, Mary Williams, Jannie Lue (Harrison) McKnight and Geraldine Gamble and Louis (Ida) Evans many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and dear friends.
