The staff and management of Pressley Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Mr. Lucius McKnight, who departed this life on Monday, June 16, 2025. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

SFC Lucius "Norman" McKnight, the son of the late Mr. Saxon McKnight and the late Mrs. Daisy Tisdale McKnight was born November 14, 1955 in Williamsburg County. He departed his life June 16, 2025 at his residents in Columbia, SC.
Lucius was a member of Bethel UMC in Kingstree, SC and was a member of the Usher Board, Bethel United Methodist Men Group and former President of the Central Community Men's Club.
SFC Lucius "Norman" McKnight graduated from St. Mark High School – Class of 1973. He joined the U.S Army in 1976 and Retired after serving 22 years of service with his last duty assignment as US Army Readiness Group, Harrison, FC. His military career consisted of numerous awards and education: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Master Aircraft Crew Badge, Driver and Mechanical Badge, Expert Qualification Badge -M-16 Rifle.
Military Education: Observation/Scout Helicopter Repair, Helicopter Technical Inspector, Instructor Training and Primary Leadership.
After his military career, Lucius attended Trident Technical College and majored in Culinary Arts. He was also employed with Williamsburg County Transit Systems and retired for the second time. He was known for his famous BBQ and Pirlo Rice. He definitely MASTERED the cooking techniques.
SFC Lucius "Norman" McKnight was proceeded in death by his loving and devoted wife the late Emma Ann Murray McKnight of 19 years, his adoring son, Antonio Nortrell McKnight, I, his two grandchildren – Deshaun McKnight and Nautica Cooper, two adoring sisters and two loving brothers.
Lucius, will be missed, but his legacy will always be remembered through his loving family: Two devoted sons, Mr. Shomari (Felecia) McKnight of Columbia, SC and 1LT Saxon (SGT John) McKnight Santiago of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Shanekqua (Bruce) Pressley of Florence, SC; one daughter-n-law, Mrs. Sadia Ferrell-McKnight of Salters, SC; two step-children, Mr. Curtis Boyde and Mrs. Kimberly (Suntrell) Flagler all of Kingstree, SC, nine Grandchildren, Brushawn, Antonio, Niara, Shania, Jamyiah, Maijayah, Shavonda, Naija and Rodnyshia; six Great grands children; two sisters Mrs. Elnora (Isaac) Pressley and Mrs. Doretha (Linwood) Cooper all of Kingstree, SC; one brother Mr. Jimmy McKnight of Effingham, SC; one God-daughter, Ms. Crystal Mitchum of Goose Creek, SC, two Special Cousins, Mr. Micheal McKnight and Ervin McKnight, all of Kingstree, SC; Special Friend, Ms. Rosa Kershaw, of Rockhill, SC, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
