It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ms. Nancy B. Snowden, who transitioned on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Emory Midtown Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
The family will be receiving visitors at the residence of Rev. Rufus and Mary Snowden, located at 145 Gardner Lp., Kingstree, SC, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12th through Friday, February 14th. Please be advised that face masks and other safety measures are requested during the visitation.
Life Reflections
Miss Nancy B. Snowden departed this earthly life on January 31, 2025, at Emory Midtown Hospital in Atlanta, Ga., after an illness.
The eleventh of fourteen children was born to the late Samuel and Ida Snowden on March 2, 1944, in Williamsburg County, Kingstree, South Carolina.
At an early age, Nancy joined Bethesda United Methodist Church and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. After relocating to New York in 1967, she attended Concord Baptist Church as a loyal member and participated in various ministries. In 1992, she moved to Decatur, Georgia, and joined New Birth Missionary Baptist Church as a loyal and faithful Usher Board member.
In 1962, she graduated from Tomlinson High School in Kingstree, South Carolina, and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina, in 1966. After moving to New York, she was employed by Banker Trust Company as a compliance officer. When she relocated to Decatur, Georgia, she began working for NationsBank as a Trust Allocation Specialist until retirement. During her working years, she worked part-time as a Real Estate Sales /Loan Consultant. She attended Long Island University and received certification in Auditing, Computer Science, and Business Management Structure.
Nancy is a daughter, sister, sister-in-love, aunt, cousin, neighbor, and friend who has been helpful and friendly to people throughout her life's journey.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Ida, and her siblings Joe, Willie, Samuel Jr., Otis, Roosevelt, Nellie, Eliza, Susie, Rhodell, Mazzie, and Baby Girl Snowden.
Loved ones left to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy are two brothers, Harry (Ethel Mae) Snowden of Gallatin, Tennessee, and Reverend Rufus (Reverend Mary) Snowden of Kingstree, South Carolina. A special nephew, Mr. Timothy Snowden, who lovingly cared for her. Niece Jennifer Snowden who assisted and facilitated her multiple appointments this past year. And a special cousin who was like a sister, Dr. Norma Parker. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her good neighbors.
