Obituary

Rev. Prince Keith Shaw, Sr. passed on Friday, August 30, 2013 at his residence after an illness. 828Kindale Pk. Rd. Kingstree, SC.Rev. Shaw was born February 22, 1931 in Williamsburg County to the late General Shaw, Sr. and Sullar McCrea Shaw. He was educated in the public school system of Williamsburg County.

He was united in holy matrimony to the late Ruby Lee Shaw, who preceded him in death. They were blessed with four children. Two preceded him in death. Sidney L. Shaw and Sullar E. Shaw-Thomas

While residing in New York he became an ordained minister at Russell Institutional CME Church.He worked many years at various companies; longest employment being SECON METAL Cooperation in White Plains, New York.He received an honorable discharge from the military after serving years in the Korean War. He also received numerous awards and metals. Rev. Shaw was a member of St. Paul UMC and also a minister of the gospel. He was employed by Williamsburg County Regional Memorial Hospital as a part of their custodial staff.

After returning to Kingstree he reconnected his membership with St Paul U.M. Church, where he served in the following capacities; member of the Chancellor Choir, United Methodist Men, United Methodist Lay Speaker and member of the Male Choir. He was employed at Harrisburg Management and Williamsburg Regional Hospital.
Those who remain to cherish his memory; are two sons; Prince Keith Shaw,Jr.,of Kingstree, SC and Rodney Shaw of Jacksonville, NC; one daughter Linda (Elijah) Henry of Durham, NC a granddaughter he raised as his own Avia Shaw of Charlotte, NC; his siblings, Geneva Burgess of Kingstree, SC, Vavian Morris of Durham, NC William Shaw of Petersburg, VA.,Isaac Shaw and Phillip Shaw both of Durham, NC along with Arthur (Myrtle) Shaw of Bronx, NY; a very close friend Beverly Greene of Georgetown, SC;sisters and brothers-in-law Willie Mae Shaw and Bernetha Singletary both of Kingstree, SC and John McFadden of Atlanta, GA; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
