Robert Lee Griffin, affectionately called "Pa", was introduced to the world on August 13, 1949 in Williamsburg County, SC as the son of the late Paul and Emily Griffin. From the age of seven months, he was raised by Robbie and Clander Griffin, better known to him as mama and daddy. "Pa" entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 20, 2018. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Robert attended St. Paul United Methodist Church in Kingstree, South Carolina as a young child. He attended Williamsburg County public schools throughout his life, and he graduated from St. Mark High School in 1967. After graduating high school, Robert moved to Miami, Florida. There he worked for numerous years. Later he moved back to South Carolina.

He leaves to cherish his memories, three children: two sons, Barry Griffin of Knoxville, TN and Robert Griffin, Jr. of Wilmington, NC, and one daughter, Antoinette Griffin, also of Wilmington; ten sisters, Janie Lou McKnight (Harrison) and Gearldine Gamble, both of Kingstree, SC, Delbra Ann Evans of Lane, SC, Carolyn Griffin-Brooks, Emma Griffin-Batts, Paulette Griffin, Kathy Griffin, JoAnn Griffin, Dorothy McGill, and Peggy White, all of Miami, Florida; five brothers, Allen Griffin and Charles Griffin, both of Charleston, SC, Emmanuel Griffin, Timothy Griffin and Danny Griffin, all of Miami, Florida; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, three aunts, Delores Williams of Delaware, Ossie Griffin and Georgia Wilson, both of Kingstree, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
