Life Reflection
Ms. Rosa Mae Anderson Williams, the daughter of the late, Ray and Ella Jane Washington Anderson, was born in Williamsburg County, South Carolina on December 7, 1949. She departed this life at MUSC in Charleston, SC on Thursday, April 4, 2024. Rosa Mae was a 1969 graduate of Blakely High School, she was the captain of the Cheerleader team and received numerous awards and accolades. She became one of the cheer squad leaders at Blakely High School. Rosa Mae was brought up in a Godly home. Therefore, her parents taught her the value of life and how to put God örst. later in life, she accepted God as her personal savior, then she was baptized. She was a dedicated member of Cedar Grove MB Church, where she served faithfully in many ministries. Such as the President of the Adult Choir, a member of the Missionary Board, Willing Workers and the Ever Ready Ministry. Rosa Mae was known for her 'proper' speaking. Her proper speaking would cause others to ask her, "Are you from New York?" She was also the "Taxi-Cab" for TAD Road and all whom she could assist. She also helped raise many of her great-nephews and nieces. She was a great cook and famous for her sweet potato pies. Many traveled far and near for those delicious pies. She also made the best cabbage and hog head cheese and always had plenty available for anyone who wanted some. Rosa Mae was a provider and hardworking woman, who worked at Oneita Knitting Mills, Frogtu, and many other textile mills. She was known as the machine operator trainer, she performed all tasks as needed. She was a cashier at Fast Point for many years serving customers.
Rosa Mae was a dedicated mother to her four children. To forever cherish her loving memories, Michael (Joyce) Williams, Sandtwan (Chris) Boyd, Sharita (Shawn H.) Williams all of Andrews, SC and Mark (Elisa(öancé)) Williams of Summerville, SC. Nine grandchildren Michael Williams Jr., Mark Williams Jr., Marquis Williams, Williams Boyd, Tyra (Anthony) Gamble, Malcolm Murphy, Paul, Joshua and Ezekiel Robertson. Seven great-grandchildren Tyanna Gamble, Jamiere Washington, Ashton, Mackenzie and Essence Murphy, Taylor and Tyler Gamble. One son she reared as her own James Williams of North Carolina. Four brothers Vern Anderson, Thurmond (Edna) Anderson, Paul (Geraldine) Anderson all of Andrews, SC, and Ray (Shirley) Anderson of Jacksonville, Fl. Seven sisters Mary A. Nesmith, Leatha White, Shirley (Harry) Darby, Frances, Pearline and Monalisa Anderson, all of Andrews, SC and Dr. Ashley (Rashad) Murray of Liberty, SC. One goddaughter Harmoni Nettles of Sumter, SC. A host of loving nieces, nephews and many more relatives
and friends.
