On Monday, September 13, 2021 at Mercy Hospital, Charlotte, NC; God in his infinite wisdom saw fit that it was time for his servant to transition from this world to her new home which we call heaven.
Ruth Mae Boyd Ferrell formally known as "Ruther" was born May 18, 1951 to the late Rev. Mose Boyd and Dorothy Pressley, in the Holywoods Community of Williamsburg County, Kingstree, SC. She attended the public school system of Williamsburg County where she graduated from Tomlinson High School with the class of 1969.
Ruth was a member of the Apostolic Faith Holiness Church, where her father Rev. Mose Boyd was the
Pastor. She was taught how to live holy and to obey the Word of God.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Wilbur Ferrell, this union was blessed with four sons. Ruth was a
caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Ruth loved to travel, eat, and talk. Most of all she had a heart full of love for everyone and lived a very good life. She worked very hard to provide for her family. She was the Chauffer for her sister Elizabeth and Cousin Rebecca. Most of her employment was in the
Nursing field where she was an LPN, she was also a seamstress.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Wilbur Ferrell of the home, her sons, Bernard Ferrell; James Ferrell; Jeremy Ferrell, Jermaine Ferrell; and Jamel Boyd all of Charlotte, NC. One brother
Rev. Nehemiah (Jesse) Boyd of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. One sister Rev. Elizabeth (Noel) Spooner of Charlotte, NC; Two step sisters Karolyn (Eli) Segers, Aiken, SC; and Deloris Wratee of Augusta, GA.; Her
grandchildren; one she raised and loved dearly Jeremyah Ferrell, Joshua Hall, and Makayla Ferrell; Two aunts Willie Williams of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.; and Elizabeth Boyd of Bayside, NY. Sisters-in law Gwen St. Hilaire; Shawandra Wilson, Debra Shuler; and Brother-in-law Willie Ferrell and a host of nieces,
nephews, friends, and other relatives.
