Sam W. Mouzon Jr., 66 received his heavenly wings on Thursday September 22, 2022 while at Prisma Health in Sumter, SC Sam was born in Manning, SC on April 12, 1956 to the late Mrs. Carrie Lee Hunter Mouzon and Mr. Sam Willie Mouzon Sr. He received his formal education at Manning Training High School in Manning, SC.
At an early age Mr. Sam accepted Christ as his personal Savior and became a member of Pine Grove AME Church in Greeleyville, SC. He later became a member of Greater St. John Apostolic Church in Greeleyville, SC. Mr. Sam Mouzon was a hard worker and for many years he was employed at Albany Felt in St. Stephen, SC until his health failed. "Jupie" as he was affectionately called was very friendly. He had a passion for sports, fishing, and hunting.
Though the presence of Sam (Jupie) Mouzon is no more, he leaves to cherish his loving memory a former wife Sandra B. Mouzon, whom he shared two beautiful kids with; a daughter, Karen T. Mouzon; and a son the late Kendrick D. Mouzon who preceded him in death. Two sisters Ms. Willie Mae Gaiter of Manning, SC and Ms. Barbara Johnson of Charleston, SC. Two brothers Clyde (Annie Bell) Mouzon of Valdosta, Ga., and Thomas (Valeria) Mouzon of Greeleyville, SC. Sisters in law: Ms. Vernell Mouzon of Georgia; Ms. Dorothy McCray of Charleston, SC; Queen Pompey of Albany, NY. Brothers in law: George Pompey of Kingstree, SC; and Edward Franklin of Charleston, SC. One daughter in law Shirinda Mouzon of Georgetown, SC. His caregiver Roger Gaiter. His dutiful neighbors Acie and John Childers whom he could call upon at any time. Eight grandchildren, two great grand children, an additional family member Angela (Cornel) Kearsey. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
