Sister Sarah Parson, age 91, passed from mortal to immortality on Thursday, June 22, 2017.God saw fit and told his child; "Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant". She was born February 26, 1926 to the late Joe Sumter, Sr. and Lettie Gibson Sumter. She was loved and known by family and friends as: " Sally Gal".

Sarah was united into holy matrimony to the late Mr. Aaron Parson. This union was blessed with ten children, five preceded her in death. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, where she knew the Lord as her personal Savior. Sarah served as a Missionary, a Stewardess, she served on the Prayer Band, and Pulpit Aide for numerous years. She was a member of Friendly Sisters Lodge # 380 of Lane, SC. She was also recently honored as the Oldest Mother of the Church. Her kind, sweet, and quiet spirit that many loved; will always be remembered for the smile she kept on her face.

Sarah was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew Sumter and Gus Sumter and three sisters, Rhodena Tisdale, Mary Dukes, and Martha Dukes.

Ones that will forever cherish her loving memories, three sons, Prince ( Mary) Parson of Goldsboro, NC, Roosevelt Parson of Lane, SC, James (Carrie) Parson of Columbia, SC,; two daughters, Julia Pressley of Kingstree, SC and Sophia Parson of Lane, SC; one brother, Robert (Queen) Sumter of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Louise Morant of Lane, SC and Modlee Kelty of St. Petersburg FL; one brother in-law, Roosevelt Parson of Lane, SC; two sisters in-law Jannie Sumter of Lane, SC and Juanita Sumter of Jacksonville, FL; Sarah has fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; one special cousin, Johnny Mae Shephard and many other relatives and friends.
