Obituary

Ms. Shirley Cunningham passed into eternal rest on Sunday, July 19, 2020. We, the staff at Pressley's Funeral Home, solicit prayers for her family at this time. "Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal."

Final rites have been entrusted to Pressley's Funeral Home.

Life Reflections

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith .

Mrs. Shirley Cunningham entered into eternal rest on Sunday afternoon July 19, 2020 at Lake City Hospital. Due to her suffering a severe stroke in 2019 and experiencing a number of other health complications. She had been a resident at Lake City Scranton Nursing Facility for approximately one year.

Mrs. Shirley Cunningham, daughter of Mrs. Julia Jackson and Mr. Alexander Jackson was born June 28, 1945, in Riverhead, NY. She attended Riverhead High School where she received her diploma. Most of her working career was involved in the sewing industry. She was joined in holy matrimony to Clarence Boyd Cunningham, that union was blessed with four children.

Mrs. Shirley Cunningham accepted the Lord as her personal savior in the 70's after relocating to South Carolina with her husband. She joined Mt. Moriah Holiness Church where she faithfully served the Lord. She sung on the choir; was a member of the Missionary Board; and also the Church secretary for forty years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Boyd Cunningham; parents, Julia and Alexander Jackson, her brother Robert Jackson and three children, Darryl Lee, Keith Lee, and Mitchell Lee.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving son George Cunningham, of Kingstree, SC, her sisters Judy Jones of Florence, SC, Elizabeth Taylor of Riverhead, New York; Jeanette Compton, Lancaster, PA; and her brothers, Raymond Jackson and Cornelius Jackson, both of Riverhead, NY. Three sister-in-laws, Evangelist Patricia C. Woods of Kingstree, SC; Ozzie Jean Scott of Baltimore, MD; and Audrey Douglas of Florence, SC. A special niece, Harriet York of Kingstree, SC, and a special friend, Mary Lee McCrea of Kingstree, SC. And a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
