Wilbert (Punchie) James Burrows was born in January 12, 1965 to the late Evangelist Bettie Ann Brown and the late Mr. Paul James Burrows. He was educated at the school for the Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg, SC. He became a "Doctor of Music"
Punchie has shown his gift of music through out various ministries, churches and choirs across the United States. His life for music was shown through many individuals that he instructed and imparted into. Recently, he was the keyboard player for Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Andrews, SC and St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Greeleyville, SC. From the beginning of service until even after the Benediction, his spirit of " Praise" was felt in the services.
Punchie was a member of Greater St. Matthews Church on the Crossroad Section of Andrews, SC under the leadership of Pastor Darius Collins, SR., until his death.
Those left to cherish his fond memories are: Step-father, Mr. Leon Brown; sisters and brothers, Gloria Burrows-Boyd of Atlanta, Ga, Pastor David (Elect Lady Gloria) Washington and Terry ( Marsha) Washington of Andrews, SC. Gwendolyn Carnell Charlester, Timothy, Paul, James Burrows and Carol Colby all of Baltimore, MD; Thomas (Gloria) Brown of Andrews, SC. Joyce (Caleb) Farris of Loris, SC; Deborah (Lenard) Robinson of Daytona Beach, FL; one niece raised as his sister, Comaleta Brown of Andrews, SC, nieces and nephews took as his own; Renarda McCray and Maria Washington both of Andrews, SC, Jon'Quelle Boyd of Georgetown, SC, Marcus Burrows of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Ontrelle Washington, Josh Boyd and Desmond Washington all of Columbia, SC, La'Quanya Boyd and Whitney Washington of Atlanta, GA. and Tyren Washington of Spring Lake, NC; one special aunt, Sandy Mcculough of Andrews, SC; and a host ofother uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
